Conventions used in this User Guide

In this User Guide options and choices as they are displayed in the program, are displayed using the following conventions:

Menu items are displayed using the format:  [Item to select].

When you're required to press a key this will be displayed using this format: <Key to press>, for example <Enter>.

To select an item from a menu use your <Up> and <Down> keys to select an item. Once an item is selected, use the <Enter> to confirm the selection.

Whenever you are asked to confirm an action that might have serious consequences, the default (hilighted) selection is the "safest" option. For example, if you'd select the "wipe a sector" option from the disk editor, the following confirmation box will have "no" hilighted. Pressing <Esc> in this case would cancel the requested wipe action, so pressing <Esc> during confirmations should always let you escape with repercussions.
In addition, you can use <Esc> to abort long running operations, such as a disk surface scan.

If in a specific part of the program certain keys perform specific actions, this information will be displayed on-screen by the program.
